Program Description:
BCC offers the Electronics, Advanced Technology & Alternative Energy specialization options, along with four college credit certificates: Applied Technology Specialist, Alternative Energy Systems Specialist, Composite Fabrication and Testing , and Engineering Technology Support Specialist.
The 20 credit hour technical core of this degree is closely aligned with the national Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician (CPT) industry certification. After completing this core, students will be prepared to take the MSSC assessment for the CPT Certification. Students who have already earned the MSSC-CPT will receive 16 articulated credit-hours towards the Engineering Technology degree. The Engineering Technology Associate in Science degree program is fully transferable to four-year, degree granting institutions and is a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners certified training and testing site.
The ET degree program is offered at the Palm Bay and Cocoa campuses.
Engineering Technology Labs at BCC:
BCC has 4 four well equipped labs and four standalone trainers for Solar Water Heating and Photovoltaics. The labs and trainers enable students to learn in a hands-on environment to supplement the theory and computer simulation provided in the classroom. Skills obtained in the classroom and through hands-on labs support skills in use by local area employers.
