NOTE FOR TEACHERS AND FACILITATORS

We are pleased that you are reviewing this educational resource. This website is intended to increase your student’s awareness and interests in the field of manufacturing and all the careers it represents. High School, Technical School & Community College Survey: We are conducting a survey of the 2007 - 2008 academic year. Your enrollment data is needed to finalize a secondary framework for Automation and Robotics Technology. Please go here to download the survey forms.

Note From Dr. Marilyn Barger:

I would like to call your attention to the new NSF ATE website, www.TeachingTechnicians.org, which is funded by the National Science Foundation, DUE #0602710. The two-part mission of TeachingTechnicians.org is (1) to make it easy for technician educators to learn about and take advantage of exemplary professional development opportunities provided by National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education Program (ATE) grantees and others in STEM fields; and, (2) to increase participation in faculty development by providing NSF ATE and other STEM grantees a central place to broadly announce their events and proactively alert instructors.

I encourage you to create a user account so that a special feature of the site is activated that automatically notifies you of professional development events that are of personal interest.

We have prepared materials to help you bring modern manufacturing into your classroom:

FAQ

Many large websites have a FAQ page where people are sent to get answers or further information about a product.  After scrolling through 20 or so questions that really don’t match your inquiry, most probably give up and start looking for a contact number.

Being that this site is constantly evolving and we don’t know what people will ask most frequently, there is no annoying list, just who to contact with your questions.

Some possible topics might be: Where do I get a copy of the “Made in Florida” dvd?,  How do I get a ‘Student Industry Tour’ started? or Where do I find the answer sheets to the ‘Challenge’ scenarios?

Give me a call at 813.259.6581 or email me at gula@fl-ate.org.
